Slay The Dragon is a mobile cleaning game operated by Shining Studios LLC ("we", "our", "us"). This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

Summary

  • Play without signing in — core gameplay works on your device; optional sign-in (Apple or Google) enables cloud save across devices.
  • Cloud save (Supabase) — when signed in, quest progress, stats, diary, and settings sync to our database (last-write-wins).
  • Optional camera / photo library — only if you choose before/after collages; photos are not uploaded to our servers.
  • Optional push notifications — daily reminder opt-in; scheduled locally on your device.
  • Slayer Pass & Family Pass (RevenueCat) — subscription status and purchase history (not your payment card).
  • Rewarded ads (Google AdMob)free users only; Slayer Pass subscribers play ad-free. Ad partners may use device/ad identifiers and approximate location for advertising.
  • Crash reporting (Sentry) — anonymous crash and performance diagnostics to fix bugs.
  • We do not sell your personal data.

Account and cloud save (Supabase)

If you sign in with Apple or Google, we store:

  • Email address (from your sign-in provider, when provided)
  • Account user ID (Supabase)
  • Optional profile name and icon emoji you choose in-app
  • Gameplay save data — modes, HP, stats, gold, settings, quest diary, achievements, and related game state (JSON)

Cloud save uses a last-write-wins model. Sign-in is optional for playing on one device; without an account, progress remains on that device only.

You may delete your account in-app (Settings). This removes your profile and cloud save from our systems, subject to short backup retention described below.

Data on your device

The app also keeps a local copy on your phone (AsyncStorage) for offline play and faster load. Local data may remain until you uninstall the app or clear app storage. If you are not signed in, local data is the only copy of your progress.

Optional camera and photo library

Before/after collages are entirely optional.

  • Camera: Used only if you enable photos for a quest.
  • Photo library: Used only if you save a collage to your camera roll.
  • You can decline permissions and still play.
  • We do not upload your photos or videos to our servers.

Optional push notifications

Daily reminders are entirely optional.

  • You may be prompted after your first full slay; accept or decline in-app.
  • Reminders are scheduled locally on your device at the time you choose.
  • We do not operate a marketing push server for this feature in the current release.
  • Revoke notification permission in device Settings anytime.

Subscription data (RevenueCat)

When you purchase or restore Slayer Pass or Family Pass, RevenueCat provides us with:

  • App user ID (linked to your account when you are signed in)
  • Subscription status (active, expired, trial, or none)
  • Product identifiers and purchase / restore dates

Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive your payment card number or bank details.

Advertising data (Google AdMob — free users)

If you are not a Slayer Pass subscriber, the app may show rewarded video ads (e.g. optional bonus gold). Slayer Pass removes ads.

Google AdMob and its partners may collect and use:

  • Device and advertising identifiers (e.g. IDFA on iOS when you allow App Tracking Transparency)
  • Ad interaction data (views, clicks, rewards)
  • Approximate location (coarse) for ad delivery
  • Product interaction related to ads

On iOS, you may be shown App Tracking Transparency; you can deny tracking and still use the app. In some regions, Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) presents ad consent choices.

Diagnostics (Sentry)

We use Sentry to collect crash logs and limited performance data so we can fix bugs, such as:

  • Crash stack traces and error messages
  • Device type, OS version, and app version
  • General diagnostic metadata

We configure Sentry not to send quest diary text, photos, or other unnecessary gameplay content in crash reports.

Data we do not collect

  • Passwords (sign-in uses Apple / Google; we do not store passwords)
  • Precise GPS location from the app itself
  • Contacts or address book
  • Health or medical data
  • Upload of your before/after photos to our servers

Third-party services

Tracking and advertising

Slayer Pass subscribers are not shown rewarded ads.

For free users, AdMob and partners may use data for personalized advertising and tracking as defined by Apple and Google platform rules. You can limit this through App Tracking Transparency (iOS), ad consent flows (UMP), and your device advertising settings.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact privacy@shiningstudiosllc.com.

Data retention

  • Cloud save: kept until you delete your account or we delete inactive accounts per our internal policy.
  • Crash logs: retained per Sentry's configured retention window (typically limited months).
  • Subscription records: retained as required for billing, fraud prevention, and legal compliance via RevenueCat and app stores.
  • Local device data: removed when you uninstall the app or clear app data.

Your choices

  • Play without signing in: Progress stays on that device only.
  • Sign in: Enables cloud save across devices.
  • Delete account: In-app account deletion removes cloud profile and save (see Settings).
  • Photos / notifications: Decline permissions or turn off in Settings.
  • Subscriptions: Manage or cancel in Apple ID / Google Play settings, or Restore Purchases in-app.
  • Ads / tracking: Use iOS ATT, Android ad settings, and in-app consent where shown.
  • Privacy: privacy@shiningstudiosllc.com
  • Security: security@shiningstudiosllc.com
  • Support: support@shiningstudiosllc.com or help@shiningstudiosllc.com

Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above will change when we do. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

This website may use cookies separate from the app.
